This article took me on a journey. Based on the title at first my self-centered masculinity got triggered. 'Now we can't call women hot anymore'? 'Well she friend-zoned all the men who didn't call her hot and was sleeping with the one who did so is it really THAT bad'? 'Boy id love to be called hot once in a while instead of being thoughtful', etc. I read through the comments a your responses. I was reminded that my guttural responses wasn't the point of the article. You're correct. In our society a large majority of people are unable to relate to a woman past her looks. What happens to her when she gets old and the hotness transforms? Does she fade into irrelevancy? I have heard of a ton of actors (even the male ones) struggle to be seen as a meaningful artist who can do meaningful work because they are just too damn good looking. When you see past the hotness, there is a real human being underneath and it's important to recognize that. Great article and thank you for the journey.
